Painted papers, silk, text, print and stitch
Images of scrolls created in lockdown, painted papers, silk, text, print and stitch. These images use the Swallow Returning as my symbol for the hope of life returning to some form of normality. Lock down has seen me experimenting with new mixed media ideas, without the pressure of finished works. However without that pressure, I have found I have lacked motivation to work. I have never been tempted to be commercial, but I have struggled with the idea of being creative for its own sake. I have participated in virtual Oxfordshire Art Weeks and will be doing virtual Warwickshire Open Studios. However I must confess that without a live audience to engage with, the online exhibitions have given me little satisfaction.
