At first I did not want to do any art work because the weather was so beautiful and I wanted to be out side. I therefore started to work on a new flower border  to eliminate all the very old and vicious brambles present. The roots were very tenacious and extremely ugly but after a few weeks I had cleared the area and I started to plant it out as a herbaceous border. These roots had a certain fascination for me and I started to draw them at different angles. They seem to have taken on a character of their own and strange animals have appeared.
