Skyward by Esther Ross
Acrylic on canvas
Esther: “Painting of a friend's dad with dementia. I thought his expression was so symbolic of the infinite capacity of the human brain, it was a heavenly gaze, despite his own struggles with mental health. Sometimes the mind is cloudy, sometimes the mind is empty with dementia, sometimes clear and sunny, but all the while it is human and worthy of love, care and attention. Bill has now sadly also passed away and his family are happy he is in a better place.”
